‘Tis the season for more Chanel.

This month, the French luxury house debuted a new boutique at Montreal’s Holt Renfrew Ogilvy, right in the heart of the city’s downtown core. Just in time for the holidays, the space features a selection of ready-to-wear items from the cruise 2020 collection, handbags, shoes, costume jewellery and eyewear, as well as watches and fine jewellery.

Designed by architect Peter Marino, Chanel’s iconic codes are built right into the boutique. Furniture is covered in the house’s signature tweed, while the instantly recognizable colour palette of black, white and gold fleck the textured walls. The main floor is dedicated to accessories, from the Boy Bag to the J12 watch collection. Head up the twin grand staircases to the ready-to-wear area, designed to be as intimate as Coco Chanel’s legendary Parisian apartment. A house-branded skateboard and basketball complete the experience.

The opening celebrations, held on November 26, featured a cocktail hour in the boutique followed by an after-party at the swanky Marcus Lounge in the Four Seasons Montreal. Chanel Canada brand ambassador and singer Charlotte Cardin performed a special live set while Juno-winning electro-pop duo Milk & Bone played throughout the evening in a musical homage to the city.
