The campaign opens with a quote from Maestro Fresh Wes, also known as the “Godfather of Canadian hip hop”. Wes became an influential force in Canadian music when his cool, cutting-edge 1989 hit “Let Your Backbone Slide” became the first Canadian hip hop single to break into the national Top 40 and land on the Billboard charts in the United States.
