Allana Davison has been a mainstay in the beauty world for over ten years, so it’s no surprise that her recommendations are highly regarded by makeup and skincare enthusiasts alike. “When I started Youtube in 2013, it was just for fun and an outlet that I enjoyed in university. By the time I graduated, it had become my full-time job,” she says.

And after years of testing out every skincare and makeup product under the sun, Davison has her beauty routine down to a science. “I like to keep it as natural and simple as possible,” she says. “I often get teased that I’m the least adventurous person in the ‘beauty guru’ space and it’s so true! Minimal, glowing, and beautifying makeup looks are my favourite to do and it’s the most realistic and relatable to all of the busy gals out there.”

To help her achieve her signature natural glow, there’s one product Davison always keeps on-hand: the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré. Lightweight, nourishing and deeply hydrating all at once, this cult-favourite French skincare staple is sold every 20 seconds world wide and leaves skin incredibly soft and supple year-round. Better yet, it’s multi-functional. Whether you’re searching for a soothing face mask, a hydrating make-up primer or even a makeup-removing milk, Lait-Crème Concentré does it all.

Ahead, we asked Davison all about her routine, what makes Lait-Crème Concentré so special, and how she used it in her bridal beauty prep.

What’s your skin type? What do you look for in a product to address your skin concerns and why?

“I have very dry and sensitive skin, so I always opt for any products that are gentle and hydrating. If a product promises glow, I’m sold!”

As a beauty expert, you’re constantly surrounded by new products and information. How do products stand out from the pack?

“I appreciate when brands put in substantial effort to separate their products from what already exists on the market. If they’re introducing new technology, a new ingredient, or have put in the time and money to run their own clinical trials, that always stands out to me. It’s so rare to see that amongst the thousands of nearly copy-and-paste product launches. If it isn’t improving upon something that already exists in our routines, we don’t need it!”

You’re always testing new products. What are some of your faves?

“I simply couldn’t choose just one overall product. While I love minimal makeup for my everyday, we’ve got seasons, events, colours, and so many other factors to consider! What category are we talking?! This gal still needs options!

What was your first experience with Embryolisse and Lait-Crème Concentré? Do you remember your first impression of the product?

“Most of my product first-impressions are very well documented on YouTube, so I can tell you (very specifically) that I first tried the Lait-Crème Concentré? on Nov 6th, 2020 and it was love at first sight! It swiftly made its way into my 2020 yearly beauty roundup and into my most trusted products and top faves ever since!”

You did your own bridal makeup and used Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré as a base. Why that product and why is it so important to have a great base when creating bridal makeup (or any event makeup for that matter)?

“Though I (regrettably) don’t follow my own advice a lot of the time, I think it’s really important to stick to what you know when doing special occasion or event makeup. I wanted to feel like “me” on my wedding day and not look back at photos in 30 years and regret doing an ultra glam or overly matte makeup that I felt buried by. Fresh, glowing, hydrated skin is always in and that’s what I went for!”

Lait-Crème Concentré is featured in your videos often. What’s the one thing you love most about Lait-Crème Concentré?

“It’s fuss-proof, effective, hydrating, multitasking, skincare, a makeup primer…what’s not to love?”

Do you have any application tips you can share?

“During the winter I really need to amp up the hydration on my very dry and dull skin–and this is my favourite tip for minimal makeup. Mix the Lait-Crème Concentré with your concealer and apply it all over the face instead of a foundation. It’s a lighter base, locks in the moisture, and you can easily decide how much or little coverage you want!
